Peter's rehalibation and the match against Melvin Manhoef

Dear Sport friends,

It’s already four months after the K-1 Grand Prix. As the most of you know, I injured my right knee with an unexpected move because of a plain ring floor.

I’ve picked up the training since a couple of months now and the rehabilitation passes by very successful. But unfortunately I don’t have enough time to prepare myself to fight in the Amsterdam ArenA the 26st of April against Melvin Manhoef.

I’d like nothing better than fight a great match in the Netherlands for my own people, but it will be uncertain that I will be 100% fit before the match. Unfortunately, but also this is a part of Top sport.

Every match I take very serious just like the match against Melvin Manhoef.

Nobody would be satisfied if I participate on that match when I am not 100% fit.
But that match will get there, don’t worry about that!

I June this year I will be standing in top form in the ring again and I don’t matter who’s my opponent then.

Just as I announced many times, I want to win the K-1 Grand Prix for sure 1 time again.
Just as I want to fight a ‘one match’ world title fight against Sem Schilt, against who the K-1 Finale of 2007 was not satisfied for anyone.

I want to thank everyone for all interest and support during my rehabilitation. Just like I want to thank my team and particularly my Doctor Bert van Wingerden who will take care that I will be hunting soon for a 4th K-1 Title!

Peter Aerts number 1 Ring Sports Top 25

Peter Aerts won the Ring Sports Top 25 most respected fighters of the  Netherlands with the most votes. The 37 year old Peter Aerts has begun a second childhood. With his new trainer Jan Plas, by many called 'Johan Cruyff' of kickboxing is Peter Aerts fighting hard to get his 4th K-1 title.
